About The Marine Technology Society
Welcome! Thank you for visiting the Home Page of the MTS Houston Section, the largest section of the National Marine Technology Society. The Houston Section currently approximately 400 members, which include major oil and gas companies, contractors and supply companies primarily involved in offshore exploration and development in the Gulf of Mexico.

Lunch meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month, except the December meeting which is held on the first Thursday in December. There is no meeting in November. The section publishes a monthly Announcement, which is distributed to around 1,900 qualified professionals throughout the United States. Other activities planned for 1998 include a Golf Tournament, the second Annual Dynamic Positioning Conference, and a Barbecue Social.

The MTS Houston Section actively supports the industry through its generous scholarship program.

Our Mission
The Marine Technology Society is a national organization dedicated to:

Disseminating marine science and technical knowledge.

Promoting and supporting education for marine scientists, engineers, and technicians.

Advancing the development of tools required to explore, study and utilize the oceans.

Providing services that create a broader understanding of the relevance of the marine sciences to other technologies, arts and human affairs.
